ODHS Members Prepare Maymont Herb Garden

The Old Dominion Herb Society has planted and maintained the Herb Garden at Maymont since 1978.   Prior to the Herb Society meeting on March 5, members met in the Maymont Herb Garden to work.  Several important spring events at Maymont bring  guests to the garden and ODHS members ensure the garden is at its best by cleaning beds and cutting back last year’s perennial herbs.  The garden will be planted with new annual herbs for Herbs Galore and More when the garden will be a center of activity.  During the event Herb Society members will be stationed in the garden to answer questions for the visitors.   Herbs Galore and More will be held April 30, 2011.

The Old Dominion Herb Society will have homemade herb based baked goods  and beverages for sale at their booth during Herbs Galore and more.  Many customers return for their favorites like lavender cookies, scones and breads each year.
